Gary Furman is the Vice President of Engineering for PGE where he oversees the Protection and Control (P&C) and Substation design engineering efforts. Mr. Furman holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tampa. Mr. Furman is also a Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Mr. Furman has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry, as a utility employee and a consultant, managing and executing all phases of power delivery projects. In the course of his career, Mr. Furman has worked with Electric Utilities throughout the United States managing large Electric Utility projects including engineer, procure and construct (EPC) projects, as well as detail design projects including all aspects of line, substation and P&C design engineering. Mr. Furman is also experienced in large Program Management and has led development of Program Offices including establishing policies, procedures, governance, staffing and budgets.
Mr. Furman lives in the Orlando area, has been married for 35 years to his wife Pam, and has two beautiful and accomplished daughters, Chelsea and Casey.
