External Referral Program

Great people know great people- and we hire great people! Share who you know and help us hire our next Power Gridder. And better yet, we’ll pay you $1,500 if they’re hired! To learn more about our program and its policies, see below.

Eligibility

Referrer

You must be an individual person (not a business entity) and a legal resident of the United States who is at least 18 years of age to participate in the Program.

Non-Eligible Referrer

The following people/entities are not eligible to participate in this program:

  • Current PGE employees
  • Staffing/recruiting agencies or consultants, or any employee or consultant of a third-party whom PGE is contractually obligated to pay a fee for the hiring of an individual referred by, or work for, such third-party

You are not eligible for an external referral payment if the candidate you refer is a:

  • Self-referral
  • Candidate who has already been referred by a current PGE employee
  • Current applicant to PGE (if they have applied to PGE within the last 12 months)
  • Recent or current contractor, temporary worker, payrollee, or consultant
  • Provider of services to PGE
  • Former PGE employee
  • Family member of a current PGE employee

How to Refer

Referrals can be made to current open positions. Our recruiting team will review each application and reach out to candidates as they see fit. 

Getting Payment

PGE shall pay you a one-time external referral payment in the amount of $1,500 net for a successfully hired referral. Payment will be released once the candidate:

  • Acknowledges they were referred by you
  • Completes 90 days of continuous, active employment with PGE
  • Is in good performance standing at the end of such 90 day period
  • Is actively employed by PGE at the time the external referral bonus is to be paid
  • Was hired against an external referral program eligible postion

If the referral is successfully hired by PGE, you must complete and return to PGE an IRS Form W-9 (and any other documentation that PGE may require) in order to receive the referral bonus. This form will be supplied to the referrer by PGE once the referred candidate has started employment with PGE. PGE will process the external referral bonus within 30 days after the referred employee completes the 90 days of employment mentioned above. Payments will be made on a 1099 basis, and paid by company check from PGE.

Rules and Regulations

  • In the event that more than one person (employee or external to the company) refers the same candidate and such candidate is hired by PGE, the referral bonus will be awarded to the first referrer as determined by PGE.
  • A referral will not be accepted for a candidate that PGE’ recruiting team has contacted in the previous six (6) months.
  • Referrals will remain active for six (6) months after the initial referral. If the referral applies and names the referrer in the application and is hired during this time, the referrer will receive the payment.
  • PGE will utilize its standard evaluation, interview and hiring processes to process the individual. PGE is in no way required to interview or otherwise process this referral except as would normally occur under PGE’ practices.
  • All referrers should comply with their employer’s policies regarding payments from external companies. Individuals who are employed by organizations that Qualus Power Services and its operating companies are contractually or legally prohibited from providing these types of payments will not be eligible for this program. It is the referrer’s responsibility to know when these limitations and policies exist.
  • The terms and conditions of this external referral bonus program are subject to change or termination at any time in PGE’ sole discretion.
