Michael J. Wright, a registered Professional Engineer in more than 19 states, serves as president of Power Grid Engineering, LLC. Wright graduated from the University of Florida where he received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1998. Wright also graduated from Rollins College in 2004 with a Master of Business Administration.
After graduating from UF, Wright accepted a job with Progress Energy (now Duke Energy) in the Relay Engineering department. He worked in the engineering department until 2001 when he moved to the Relay Construction department offering support to the field relay techs on construction projects. In 2005, he accepted a position in the Protection and Control department as one of two Lead Engineers who were tasked with overseeing all technical functions of the department.
Wright left Duke Energy in 2007 to found an engineering firm with his friends and coworkers, Andre Uribe and Glenn Durie, P.E. Wright is a Florida native, born in Jacksonville, educated in Gainesville and has worked his entire professional career in Central Florida. In April of 2006 Wright married the love of his life, Heather, and the couple now shares their life together in Sanford, Fla. with children Mia, Monty, Jack and Brandt.
